First aircraft was landed at Istanbul New Airport on June 21, 2018. The president's aircraft went down in Turkish aviation history as the first ever to land at the new gigantic airport.

Planned as the largest airport in the world, it will have a 150 million annual passenger capacity once the last expansion stage is complete but could eventually be expanded to handle 200 million annual passengers. The airport will also serve flights to more than 350 destinations around the world.

Within the scope of the project, Prota performed seismic and structural design services of the passenger terminal building covering more than 1.500.000 sq. meters.
