The luxurious five-star Swissotel Grand Efes is conveniently located in the centre of Izmir's commercial district, steps away from the heart of the city nesting in 12,000 m² of landscaped gardens overlooking the spectacular Kordon on the Aegean Sea.
The hotel was designed in modern and contemporary style. It has the 402 luxuriously appointed guest rooms including 55 suites, 19 meeting and conference rooms including a multi-purpose exibition hall and a grand ballroom.
Prota provided seismic performance evaluation and retrofitting design of the hotel including geological and geotechnical surveys and evaluation, retrofitting projects and details, preparation of bidding documents and technical consultancy services. The Hotel is spread over to 12 blocks of including the reception and the convention center buildings.
Building was structurally modelled by using 3-D structural analysis programme and performance levels of blocks was determined in accordance with the 2007 Turkish Earthquake Code criteria.
