Patara Lighthouse

Located in ancient Patara town of Izmir, Patara Lighthouse is approximately 2000 years old. This lighthouse is exactly 60 years older than the one in Spain which was known as the oldest of the world. The bronze inscriptions on the lighthouse indicate that this was a monument of the Roman period.

The structure was damaged after a strong earthquake occurred in the middle of the sea. Tsunami waves after this earthquake nearly demolished the Patara Lighthouse.

Prota, re-designed the Patara Lighthouse and provided retrofitting and restoration design services within the scope of restoration project of Patara Lighthouse.
