Istanbul New Airport was constructed by IGA Consortium under the contract signed between State Airports Administration (DHMI) and IGA. The airport was designed to be the busiest airport in the world, serving 70 million passengers in its first year and 150 million passengers per year on average during its first 25 years. The airport also serve flights to more than 350 destinations around the world. 

Within the scope of the airport project, Prota performed seismic and structural design services of the passenger terminal building covering more than 1.500.000 sq. meters.

The official inauguration ceremony of the Istanbul New Airport, was held on Oct. 29, 2018, attended by the President of Republic of Turkey.
