Prota Attended FCIC International Engineering Forum 2016

FCIC (Federation of Consultants from Islamıc Countries) International Engineering Forum 2016 has been organized in Istanbul on November 25-26.

The forum provided a two-day platform, where representatives of International Organizations, technical consultancy and construction firms meet and share their worldwide know-how, and create a network through bilateral meetings. The speakers of the Forum consist of representatives from the International Organizations and the leading companies.

Chairman of Prota’s board of directors Joseph Kubin, represented Prota as a keynote speaker in this event. In his presentation, he informed participants on Earthquake Resistant Design Methods of Hospital Buildings Using Seismic Isolation.

During his speech, Kubin also highlighted some relevant Earthquake Engineering topics such as;

  • Seismic loads,
  • Earthquake resistant building design principles,
  • Seismic rehabilitation of building structures,
  • Difficulties in the Standardization of Performance Evaluation Procedures and Retrofit Techniques,
  • Alternative Methods of Base Isolation techniques
  • Examples of Prota designed base-isolated hospitals.
