Inauguration Ceremony of Kadiköy - Kartal Metro Line

The longest underground metro system in Turkey running underground for its entire 21.8 km length... 

The project of Kadikoy-Kartal Metro System starts from Kadikoy square, joins the station of Marmaray Project at Ayrılıkçeşme and extends as far as Kartal including 16 underground stations, an underground depot yard and various workshops in total. The project is composed of double tunnels and the distance between the two tunnels is nearly 32 meters.

Line M4 links Kadiköy station with Kartal and runs underground for its entire 21.8km length. The line is equipped with Thales Seltrac CBTC and has a design headway of 90 seconds with a service headway of two minutes, giving design capacity of 70,000 passengers/hour/direction. Services are operated by a fleet of 30 six-car trains supplied by CAF. The journey time between the termini is 32 minutes.

Prota was responsible for project planning, architectural, structural and E&M system detailed designs of 17 underground structures (16 subway stations and an underground depot), track-way alignment engineering, preparation of alignment investigations, fire safety engineering design, acoustic modelling & deisgn and construction management. Prota has been designed Ayrilikcesme and Kadikoy Stations using top-down method.
