The Cer Modern, an old maintenance hall for railway wagons and engines recently restored, now serves as Ankara’s contemporary arts center spread over an area of 11.500 sqm.  

The museum was designed by Architects Semra-Özcan Uygur for Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Cer Modern hosts different art disciplines with a variety of artistic spaces such as temporary exhibition halls, photography gallery, a conference and multi-purpose hall of 370 people and Sculpture Park. 

Within the scope of restoration services tendered by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Prota Engineering provided seismic assesment and damage analysis, restoration and retrofitting design services and preparation of lists of building works, bills of quantities and cost estimates. Entire design works were completed in 2001.
